1.CALL TO ORDER – SPECIAL MEETING
The regular meeting of the Danville Town Council was called to order by Mayor
Arnerich at 8:30 a.m. in the Town Meeting Hall, 201 Front Street, Danville, CA.
Present: Newell Arnerich, Mayor
Robert Storer, Vice Mayor
Dave Fong, Councilmember
Renee Morgan, Councilmember
Karen Stepper, Councilmember
2.FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN
There were no speakers.
3.CONSENT CALENDAR
3.1Consider adoption of Resolution No. 79-2021, authorizing the Town
Manager to execute contracts for the purchase of office furniture as part of
CIP Project B-626, Town Office Relocation
MOTION BY COUNCILMEMBER MORGAN, SECOND BY VICE MAYOR
STORER, TO APPROVE THE CONSENT CALENDAR
MOTION CARRIED 5-0
4.ADJOURN TO STUDY SESSION AND CLOSED SESSION
At 8:35 a.m. the special meeting of the Danville Town Council adjourned to a
Study Session.
At 10:15 a.m. Mayor Arnerich convened the publicly noticed Closed Session of the
Danville Town Council - Conference with Legal Counsel – Anticipated Litigation-
Deciding Whether to Initiate Litigation based on existing facts and circumstances

SUMMARY OF ACTIONS
DECEMBER 14, 2021
pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(4): In re National Prescription
Opiate Litigation, United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio,
MDL No. 2804, Case No. 17-MD-2804 (class action).
Councilmember Fong recused himself from the discussion and departed from the
building due to a potential conflict of interest based on a business relationship
between his current employer and parties to the litigation.
At 10:30 a.m. Mayor Arnerich reported out of Closed Session that the Town
Council provided direction to the City Attorney to take the steps necessary to opt
into participation in the class action settlement and authorized the City Attorney
to submit the necessary forms to accomplish this.
The Town Council action was unanimous, Councilmember Fong absent.
