This letter is in regards to Agenda Item Number TR21-0012, Project Name Treet Permit request - Ray Marquez, Location
459 Love Lane, APN: 199-150-022, with meeting date July 13, 2021 at 5pm.
I am the owner and resident at 366 Love Lane, along with my wife and 3 young children. I was born and raised in
Danville since 1982 and attended Montair Elementary School, Stone Valley Middle School, and San Ramon Valley
High School. As a long-time resident of Danville and as a resident of Love Lane, I whole-heartedly oppose the desire of
Mr. Marquez to remove the Oak Tree on his property. I support the Town of Danville's decision to deny Mr. Marquez's
request to cut the tree down. Danville is a desirable place to live due to the abundance of trees and open space
surrounding our residences. I have travelled all over the United States as well as the world, and it is challenging to find
an environment similar to Danville. Turning a quaint single-family home into multiple rental units while also clearing
every single tree off the property is a travesty and I am so pleased that the Town has denied this request to cut down
the last tree on the property.
On this small stretch of Love Lane (approx. 15 houses), there are 17 children from the stop sign past my property, and is
also a haven for nature lovers to walk, run and ride their bike. Cutting down this last tree has drastically changed the
landscape and now adding in multiple rental units will also change the ambiance with revolving tenants, additional car
traffic, deliveries, etc. Full size garbage trucks have a challenging time getting up the hill to this property for example.
Thank you for considering my email; I support the Town in denying the application to cut down this tree. Please protect
this neighborhood and this tree.
Best regards,
1
