Karen Stepper Re: Council Meeting, Agenda Item 8.1 Dear Honorable Mayor and Danville City Council members, Thank you for your support to adopt Ordinance No. 2021-02 to keep dining parklets open until January 3, 2022. Your vote is critical to affording our restaurant businesses the ability to stabilize their business sector from the horrific financial losses stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic. These restaurants are the core of our downtown community and provide the catalyst for many of the other business that surround them. Both our local residence as well as patrons from neighboring areas are supporting our businesses in increasing numbers, seeing Danville as the go-to place for dining and shopping. I hope your vote to adopt this ordinance will provide the means to further enhance the aesthetic appeal, safety and functionality of these important venues. Further, I would like for you to consider how parklets might be the foundation of our ongoing downtown revitalization plan, beautifying the public realm through lighting, landscaping, streetscape, and storefront improvements. Our downtown is primed for augmenting what we are doing right now to doing something right for our future. Thank you again for listening to your community and supporting local business, Keva Dodd Owner, Whim House
