Home My WebLink AboutAAB Summary 011321 Arts Advisory Board Special Meeting Summary January 13, 2021 CALL TO ORDER The special meeting of the Danville Arts Advisory Board was called to order by Chair Bowles at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was conducted by teleconference only. Roll Call Administrative Assistant Kristine Meidberg conducted the roll call for attendance: Present: Kevin Donovan, Board Member Haley Johnson, Board Member Jane Joyce, Board Member Amy Schell, Vice Chair Kim Bowles, Chair Announcements Administrative Assistant Kristine Meidberg provided information regarding the format of the meeting and instructions for public comment. PUBLIC COMMENTS Administrative Assistant Kristine Meidberg opened public comments and invited those who wanted to make a public comment to use the “raise the hand” feature. There were no public comments made. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA There were no changes to the order of the agenda. ACTION ITEMS 4.1 Approval of the November 12, 2020 Arts Advisory Board Meeting Summary. MOTION BY BOARD MEMBER JOYCE, SECOND BY VICE CHAIR SCHELL, TO APPROVE THE MEETING SUMMARY OF THE NOVEMBER 12, 2020 ARTS ADVISORY BOARD SPECIAL MEETING. Motion Carried 5 – 0 REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS 5.1 Discussion of Cultural Arts 2021 and Beyond Recreation, Arts and Community Services Director Henry Perezalonso and Cultural Arts and Marketing Program Supervisor Jessica Wallner shared ideas that the staff is exploring in Cultural arts. Ideas were presented for Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Public Art. It was brought to the Board Members for discussion. 5.2 Town Updates Cultural Arts and Marketing Program Supervisor Jessica Wallner updated the Board on all of the November and December events that took place. She announced that the Traces exhibit is opening virtually, January 14, 2021. The Arts Advisory Board is continuing to look for a candidate to fill the Youth Representative position. 5.3 Board Member Reports Board Member Joyce attended the Town Recognition event. Vice Chair Schell informed the Board of the two new members on the Curatorial Committee, Alexandria Brown-Hejazi and Jessica Kolis.
