HomeMy WebLinkAbout006-2021DocuSign Envelope ID: OD561 F7D-C456-41 DD-AB26-E6F45EA32533 RESOLUTION NO. 6-2021 APPROPRIATING FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES RELATED TO THE PREPARATION OF THE 2022-2030 GENERAL PLAN HOUSING ELEMENT WHEREAS, all cities and counties in California must maintain a General Plan Housing Element which plans for the housing needs of its residents; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Housing and Community Development distributes a Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) to regional governments on an eight-year cycle. In turn, the regional governments develop a methodology for the distribution of the housing units to individual cities and counties; and WHEREAS, the Town adopted the current 2014-2022 Housing Element in 2013. The process for the 2022-2030 Housing Element is now underway and is required to be approved by the Town by January 2023. WHEREAS, the Town desires to hire a consultant to assist the Town in the preparation of the 2022-2030 Housing Element; and WHEREAS, after soliciting proposals from qualified housing consulting firms, the Town desires to enter into a contract for environmental consulting services with the firm of Diana R. Elrod Consulting; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council authorizes the Town Manager to execute an agreement with Diana R. Elrod Consulting for assistance in the preparation of the Town's 2022-2030 General Plan Housing Element; and, be it further RESOLVED, that $127,550 is appropriated from the Town's Comprehensive Planning Fee Fund.
