HomeMy WebLinkAbout011321 Whallen Fong Thank you for considering the establishment of pickleball courts in Danville. Question: Does the city have a location(s) for the new courts? It’s important that the pickleball venue(s) should not share space and court time with the tennis community. We can coexist if we are in different locations. Having a separate location will show the true interest to pickleball and a measurement of usage. Question: How many courts are you looking at? With the extremely high interest in pickleball in the United States two courts would not be adequate initially. 4 or more courts with room for expansion might be a good start...Livermore started with 4 permanent courts. Question: What kind of courts are going to be installed? Courts should have permanent nets, adequate parking ,access to restroom facilities , entry/ exit gate(s), water fountain , wind screens, free of large trees that might shed leaves on the courts, and proper drainage during wet weather. If you elect not to install permanent nets and only install lines, you are limiting use to only those that have portable nets. Whallen Fong Resident of Danville Sent from my iPad
