Dear Council Members,
I am a resident of Fostoria Terrace in Danville. My address is 3065 Fostoria Circle and my unit faces
Fostoria Way (across from Sponges Car Wash). I recently learned that Costo Danville had purchased
the land across from their store (Office Depot). Their plan is to build a gas station.
As you know, Costco is located in Danville but the Office Depot is located in San Ramon.
I have serious concerns with the proposed gas station. The first being the traffic that will increase.
There are safety concerns for pedestrians at the intersection of Fostoria Way and Camino Ramon. I
have observed repeatedly not only vehicles running the four way stop sign but also the commercial
trucks entering the delivery driveway into Costco. It is currently unsafe to walk across the street
without the possibility of being struck by a vehicle. My teenagers along with other families
walk/ride their bikes in the area. I have not seen any sort of traffic impact/observation report done
by the City of Danville or the City of San Ramon addressing the increased traffic.
Last year Costco remolded the exterior and interior of their store. Their construction went on all
hours of the night with jack hammering and other construction. I called the building department on
several occasions reporting the noise. My understanding is that they did not have a permit to do this
type of work in the evening hours. I am highly concerned that with their proposed construction of the
gas station the noise will impact us. There are several families in our complex that have school age
children who are distance learning. Adults are also working from home during this health crisis. This
will be unbearable.
I understand that delivery trucks are only allowed during certain hours and the gate is to be closed
during off hours. Costco has delivery trucks 24 hours a day with no regard for the homeowners. This
gas station will have hours of 5:30am-10:00pm with tanker trucks delivering fuel. This type of
business is not suitable for that space, let alone having 8 gas stations within a 2 mile radius of us.
There are health and safety concerns with have this type of business close to our homes not to
mention impacting our property values. Has there been an environmental impact report done
addressing the health and safety of your Danville residents?

I kindly ask that you address these concerns with the City of San Ramon and work together to ensure
your Danville residents are considered in this process.
Sincerely,
Paige Friesen
