Hi Marie,
My wife and I are owners of the Danville Yoga & Wellness Center, on Town & Country Drive. We have a few
comments to be considered by the Council, for your grant program.
We do have several upcoming business expenses that don't appear to be covered, in the available / suggested
grant categories. These expenses will be a direct result of our response to COVID that will allow us to safely
offer indoor yoga classes. Specifically, we will have to make the following capital expenditures (estimated):
HEPA-13 air filter: $300
Laptop computer and monitor: $800
The computer and monitor will allow us to 'simulcast' our in-person classes on Zoom, to those who prefer to
attend remotely - which we expect to be a substantial percentage of our students, for some time to come.
We recognize that many Danville businesses need support for outdoor operations. However, that's not an
option for us, for a variety of reasons. Our revenue will be dependent on our ability to offer indoor classes, as
well as Zoom classes.
We greatly appreciate the Town's efforts to support us. We've been in operation for 25 years, and the vast
majority of our students are Danville residents.
Let us know if we can provide any additional information.
Kind Regards,
Mark & Maria Haswell, Owners

Dear Danville Yoga & Wellness Center,
On November 4 at 5:00 p.m., the Town Council will consider appropriating $250,000 in funds
establishing a Forward Focus COVID-19 business grant program.
Funding will be allocated under two categories, Marketing and Capital and is geared to expand
assistance being provided to Danville businesses still struggling as a result of COVID-19.
Business are encouraged to review the staff report and provide comments by 4:00 p.m. on 11/4 to be
considered by the Town Council. Comments can be submitted to our City Clerk, Marie Sunseri at
cityclerk@danville.ca.gov.
