Town Council – Special Meeting
SUMMARY OF ACTIONS
September 29, 2020 - DRAFT
1. CALL TO ORDER
The special meeting of the Danville Town Council was called to order by Mayor
Stepper at 5:00 p.m. The meeting was conducted by teleconference only.
1.1 Roll Call
Acting City Clerk Joan Snashall conducted the roll call for attendance.
Present: Karen Stepper, Mayor
Lisa Blackwell, Vice Mayor
Newell Arnerich, Councilmember
Renee Morgan, Councilmember
Robert Storer, Councilmember
All Councilmembers were present.
1.2 Announcements
Acting City Clerk Joan Snashall provided information regarding the format of the
meeting and instructions for public comment.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG
The pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Mayor Stepper.
3. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA
There were no changes to the order of the agenda.
4. FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN
No public comments were received.

5. COMMUNICATIONS
5.1 Receive a verbal update and status report regarding street closures for
temporary outdoor restaurant seating within the public right-of-way along
Hartz Avenue as approved by Resolution No. 50-2020
Town Manager, Joe Calabrigo provided a recap of the Town Council actions
taken for restaurant outdoor dining since the County Health order went
into effect in March.
Economic Development Manager Jill Bergman provided an update on the
street closures and the results of the Town’s survey of affected businesses
and answered questions from the Town Council.
Acting City Clerk Joan Snashall read public comment received.
Michelle and Mark Collopy, Auburn Lounge, expressed support for
continuing the street closure through the new year.
Justin Walsh, Norms’ Place, expressed support for continuing the street
closure through January 2021.
Jennifer Ludlam, AR Workshop, expressed support for continuing the
street closure until businesses are allowed to operate at 100% capacity.
Aaron and Teri Fick, Danville Cigar Fine Wine and Gifts, expressed support
for any decision made as long as it benefits the majority of the neighboring
businesses.
Tina Wong, Molly’s Pup-Purr-ee, expressed opposition to the street closure.
Judy Harris, Danville Hairlines, expressed opposition to the street closure.
There was a consensus by the Town Council to continue operating the street
closures as is, and as conditions change, particularly the end of daylight
savings time and winter weather, to bring it back before the Town Council
for review.

The special meeting of the Danville Town Council was adjourned at 6:06 p.m.
