I appreciate the opportunity to comment publicly on what a tremendous impact the Hartz Ave. street closure has had on our business. We have six small round tops, sometimes eight depending on the weather that we place in the street. Those tables make a huge difference in our weekend sales, and without them we would not meet our minimum that allows us to pay our rent. It also allows us to have two additional employees clocked in to serve those guests, which is critical to my staff. The street being closed for those who are sitting at those tables provides a layer of safety which is also worth noting. I was asked about the timeframe of the set up process and I would also like to see it remain the same. My husband and I both work second jobs, and we enjoy being able to set up in the early morning on Friday’s, several hours before we open. Danville Council-Thank you for caring about our businesses, and for approving the closure through the New Year. This time of the year we should be gearing up for holiday parties and corporate events, but we have zero agreements in place with “Dine-in” being unclear. Even if we do get 25% inside in October/November it still won’t be enough. At least the Street closure is making a small dent in that lost business this year. Thank you for your time, Michelle & Marc Collopy, Matt Ospeck & the entire Auburn Staff. 1
