We are grateful for the additional seating that the parklets have allowed us. We are fortunate to have the patio space that we do have and the additional street seating. I hope the council will reconsider the closure of Hartz Avenue as it had done in July. Our revenue decreased by 30% once the weekend closure stopped. It certainly benefited our business and we so enjoyed the community feeling it gave to the downtown. It was wonderful to see kids on bikes and roller skates riding in the middle of the street and feeling it is safe to do so. I have witnessed many doing the same on weekends lately, thinking the street is closed, when in fact it is open to automobile traffic. That is scary! Once the weather cools off, I believe we will see many more pedestrians wandering around town into shops and at restaurants. We are concerned about the upcoming winter months and like others, we must capitalize on revenue while we can. As for the parklets extended time frame, we vote yes. As long as possible. Thank you to the council for your continued support and your time. Gabe & Bernadette Moufarrej 455 Hartz Avenue Danville, CA 94526 925-820-2349 1 www.incontrodanville.com 2
