HomeMy WebLinkAbout081120-09.3 9.3 STUDY STUDY SESSION MEMORANDUM TO: Mayor and Town Council August 11, 2020 SUBJECT: Commission recruitment and interview process DISCUSSION As a result of the COVID19 pandemic, recruitments for Town commissions were put on hold. The Town Council is being asked to provide direction on moving forward with the recruitment timeline and interview process, given the current social distancing requirements. The following 14 positions are currently vacant or have terms that will end on December 31, 2020:  Arts Advisory Board – Youth Member 1 vacancy  Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission 2 vacancies  Heritage Resource Commission 1 vacancy (licensed architect) Kathryn Benvenuto Lee Halverson  Planning Commission 1 vacancy Mark Graham Paul Radich Andrew Verriere David Havlik, alternate  Design Review Board Afshan Hamid  CCC Advisory Council on Aging James Donnelly  CCC Mosquito and Vector Control District Randall Diamond Town Council has the option to conduct in-person interviews with candidates in the Community Center with social distancing in place, or virtually via the Zoom web- conferencing platform. Public meeting notification will apply. Applicants are typically given a minimum of two choices for interview dates, with options for morning or afternoon timeslots of 15 minutes each. Selection of one of the following options is proposed: Interview October 13 morning and October 20 afternoon; appoint October 20  Interview November 10 morning and November 17 afternoon; appoint November 17  Interview December 8 morning and December 15 afternoon; appoint December 15  Interview January 5 morning and January 12 afternoon; appoint January 12  RECOMMENDATION Select location and dates to interview Commission applicants.
