SUBJECT: Resolution No. 51-2020, approving a Notice of Completion for the 2020 LED
Street Light Replacement Project Phase IV, CIP No. A-362
BACKGROUND
This project replaced 41 high pressure sodium street lights with energy saving LED street
light fixtures on 22 new fluted poles on San Ramon Valley Blvd, completing the conversion
of all the street lights downtown to the Town’s new standard LED lights and poles.
DISCUSSION
The project is now complete and ready for acceptance by the Town. All work was performed
in accordance with the approved plans and specifications.
The original contract amount of $27,183.00 was increased by $377.00 as a result of two
Contract Change Orders. The change orders consisted of installing a street light pole base,
weather covering and adjustment of final bid quantity measurements.
The final contract amount of $27,560.00 (contract plus change orders) is within the
authorized construction budget for this project.

RESOLUTION NO. 51-2020
APPROVING A NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE 2020 LED
STREET LIGHT REPLACEMENT PROJECT PHASE IV, CIP NO. A-362
WHEREAS, on January 14, 2020, the Town of Danville awarded a construction contract
to Advanced Lighting Services, Inc., for the 2020 LED Street Light Replacement Project
Phase IV, CIP No. A-362; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has determined that the work under this project has been
completed as of April 24, 2020, in accordance with the plans and specifications thereof;
and
WHEREAS, California Civil Code section 9204 specifies the requirements for recordation
of a Notice of Completion; and
WHEREAS, not less than thirty days (30) nor more than forty-five (45) days after a Notice
of Completion is recorded the Town must release all undisputed retention payments to
the contractor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that said work by and with Advanced
Lighting Services, Inc., is hereby accepted as complete; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with the County
Recorder of the County of Contra Costa, a Notice of Completion for said project within
fifteen (15) days from the date hereof; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that undisputed retention payments be released in accordance with
Sections 8812 and 9356 of the California Civil Code.

bytheDanvilleTownCouncil, thattheTownManagerbeandherebyisRESOLVED,
authorizedtoexecute, onbehalfoftheTown, awrittencontractwithAdvancedLighting
Services, Inc., CA, for $27,183andauthorizeuseofa20% contingencyof $5,440foratotal
constructionbudgetof $32,623forworkinconnectiontherewith, andtheCityClerkis
herebydirectedtoattestsameandaffixtheretotheofficialsealoftheTown; and, beit
further
thattheTownshallwithinfive (5) daysoftheadoptionofthisresolution, RESOLVED,
transmitanExtractofPublicWorkscontractawardtotheDepartmentofIndustrial
Relations, DivisionofApprenticeshipStandards, P.O. Box603, SanFrancisco, CA94101.
