SUMMARY OF ACTIONS
June 2, 2020
1. CALL TO ORDER
The special meeting of the Danville Town Council was called to order by Mayor
Stepper at 5:00 p.m. The meeting was conducted by teleconference only.
1.1 Roll Call
City Clerk Marie Sunseri conducted the roll call for attendance:
Present: Karen Stepper, Mayor
Lisa Blackwell, Vice Mayor
Newell Arnerich, Councilmember
Renee Morgan, Councilmember
Robert Storer, Councilmember
All Councilmembers were present.
1.2 Announcements
City Clerk Marie Sunseri provided information regarding the format of the
meeting and instructions for public comment.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG
The pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Mayor Stepper.
3. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA
There were no changes to the order of the agenda.

4. FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN
4.1 Update by Contra Costa County District II Supervisor Candace Andersen
and Dr. Ori Tzvieli, Contra Costa County Deputy Public Health Officer
Dr. Tzvieli and Supervisor Andersen provided an update on Countywide
efforts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The following public comment was received via email:
Robert Ficken encouraged support and commitment of the movement to
end all forms of injustice and discrimination.
Don Medwedeff expressed concern regarding the need for evacuation and
planning drills for the Diablo Road/Blackhawk Road corridor.
Ashley Iorio encouraged the Town to open up for summer sports for
children.
Tom Perry questioned how the new health order effects youth sports and
field use.
5. PRESENTATIONS AND PROCLAMATIONS
5.1 Economic development update by Jill Bergman, Danville Economic
Development Manager and Zae Perrin, President/CEO, Danville Area
Chamber of Commerce
Economic Development Manager Jill Bergman and Danville Area Chamber
of Commerce President/CEO Zae Perrin discussed the plans in place to
support Danville businesses.
The following public comment was received via email:
Lauren World encouraged the Town to have a reopening plan for
businesses.

Gina Cefalu inquired as to the Town's reopening plan for small businesses
and asked the Town to consider closing off Hartz Avenue to vehicular
traffic.
Angela Pace expressed concern regarding closing off Hartz Avenue to
vehicular traffic.
Darren Matte, Danville Harvest and Cocina Hermanas, expressed concern
regarding the fate of downtown restaurants and encouraged the Town to
close Hartz Avenue, or adjacent streets, to vehicular traffic.
Diane Roesbery, Kokofit Gym, expressed concern regarding the fate of
Danville businesses and encourage the Town to reopen.
Turner Stanton provided words of encouragement to Danville businesses
and the community.
5.2 Presentation of a proclamation to Jacquie Guzzo, President, PFlag,
proclaiming June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month
Mayor Stepper presented the proclamation.
Jacquie Guzzo, President of the Danville/San Ramon Valley chapter of
PFLAG, submitted an email in appreciation for the proclamation and
shared her personal experiences.

5.3 Presentation of a proclamation of the National Center for Posttraumatic
Stress Disorder proclaiming June as PTSD Awareness Month
Mayor Stepper presented the proclamation.
6. CONSENT CALENDAR
6.1 Consider approval of the Summary of Actions from the special Town
Council meeting of May 19, 2020
6.2 Consider approval of the Register of Demands
6.3 Consider adoption of 33-2020, authorizing application for, and receipt of,
Local Government Planning Support Grant Program Funds

7. ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF REPORTS
7.1 Consider adoption of Resolution No. 34-2020, transferring $150,000 in FY
2019/20 Contingency Funds to the Emergency Preparedness program to
implement safety protocols and acquiring the necessary supplies and
equipment in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic
City Attorney Rob Ewing presented the staff report.
Mayor Stepper opened the item to public comment.
Chris Koenig submitted an email encouraging the Town to implement
temporary measures to aid local businesses.
Mayor Stepper closed the item to public comment.

2019/20 CONTINGENCY FUNDS TO THE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM
TO IMPLEMENT SAFETY PROTOCOLS AND ACQUIRING THE NECESSARY
SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 GLOBAL PANDEMIC

8.1 Appoint one member of the Planning Commission to serve as Heritage

The Mayor and Town Council provided updates and encouraging words
to the Danville community.
