Mayor and Town Council June 16, 2020
SUBJECT: Resolution No. 41-2020, setting the Town Council meeting dates for 2021;
and Resolution No. 42-2021, setting the 2021 legal holidays to be observed
by the Town
BACKGROUND
The Town Council conducts its regular meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of each
month. For 2021, exceptions occur during the month of January. The only meeting in
January will be held on the second Tuesday. Town Council study sessions are held on the
second Tuesday of each month. Each Tuesday in May is reserved for discussion of the
Town's Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program. Exhibit 1 to Resolution No.
41-2020 establishes the Town Council meeting dates for 2021.
There are 11 legal holidays observed by the Town each year. In addition, three holiday
furlough dates are scheduled and reflect office closure from December 24 through December
31, 2021. Offices will reopen on Monday, January 3, 2022, following the 2022 New Year's
holiday that is observed on Friday, December 31, 2021. Exhibit 1 to Resolution No. 42-2020
lists the dates and events.

FISCAL IMPACT
None.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution No. 41-2020, setting the Town Council meeting dates for 2021; and adopt
Resolution No. 42-2020, setting the 2021 legal holidays to be observed by the Town.

RESOLUTION NO. 41-2020
SETTING THE TOWN COUNCIL MEETING DATES FOR 2021
WHEREAS, state law requires the Town Council to establish regular meeting days; and
WHEREAS, each year the Town Council confirms these regular meeting dates; now,
therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Council does hereby approve the 2021 meeting dates
attached as Exhibit 1 to this Resolution.

RESOLUTION NO. 42-2020
SETTING THE 2021 LEGAL HOLIDAYS
TO BE OBSERVED BY THE TOWN
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council has established 11 legal holidays to be observed
by the Town; and
WHEREAS, each year the Town Council reviews the list of legal holidays for approval;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Council hereby approves the list of legal holidays for 2021
attached as Exhibit 1 to this Resolution.
