HomeMy WebLinkAbout021820-05.7 ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF REPORT 5.7 TO: Mayor and Town Council February 18, 2020 SUBJECT: Resolution No. 12-2020, approving a Notice of Completion for the Danville Various Streets and Roads Preservation Project, CIP No. C-584 BACKGROUND Danville Various Streets and Roads Preservation Project, CIP No. C-584 repaired the roadway surface on Sycamore Valley Road from San Ramon Valley Boulevard to Camino Ramon (I-680 overpass) and repaired the roadway surface on El Cerro Boulevard from El Pintado Road to just east of the El Cerro bridge. This project also removed asphalt concrete pavement within the Park & Ride bus loop and replaced with Portland Cement Concrete. These segments are funded in part by the One Bay Area Grant (OBAG), a federal grant program administered by Caltrans. DISCUSSION The project is now complete and ready for acceptance by the Town. All work was performed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. The original contract amount of $2,262,069.00 was decreased by $148,943.46 as a result of 4 Contract Change Orders. The change orders consisted of removal and installation of 3 Traffic Cameras, relocation of a traffic pole to a new location, installation and removal of a temporary traffic pole, and a bid item adjustment change order. The final contract amount of $2,113,125.54 (contract plus change orders) is within the authorized construction budget for this project. Williams Assistant Town Manager Attachments: A - Resolution No. 12-2020 B - Notice of Completion RESOLUTION NO. 12-2020 APPROVING A NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE DANVILLE VARIOUS STREETS AND ROADS PRESERVATION PROJECT, CIP NO. C-584 WHEREAS, on April 17, 2018, the Town of Danville awarded a construction contract to MCK Services, Inc., for the Danville Various Streets and Roads Preservation Project, CIP No. C-584; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has determined that the work under this project was completed as of November 20, 2019, in accordance with the plans and specifications thereof; and WHEREAS, California Civil Code section 9204 specifies the requirements for recordation of a Notice of Completion; and WHEREAS, not less than thirty days (30) nor more than forty-five (45) days after a Notice of Completion is recorded the Town must release all undisputed retention payments to the contractor; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that said work by and with MCK Services, Inc., is hereby accepted as complete; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with the County Recorder of the County of Contra Costa, a Notice of Completion for said project within fifteen (15) days from the date hereof; and, be it further RESOLVED, that undisputed retention payments be released in accordance with Sections 8812 and 9356 of the California Civil Code.
