STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY IMAGE AND SENSE OF PLACE
In the Town of Danville’s wonderful dog parks, renovations have been ongoing during the annual
moratorium, starting with the removal and replacement of new sod in the large dog park and slit seed-
ing of the small dog park turf. Work also includes renishing of four benches, in which they were
sanded and re-stained in the large dog park. Repairs and adjustments to the irrigation system were
completed in the large and small dog parks and bark mulch was moved back into place after being pushed towards the fencing by the dogs running as well as the rains. The bark mulch was also replen-
ished in the landscape areas of both the large and small dog parks with 100 yards of Golden Nuets.
In the new play area, the play equipment has been completely installed, with a beautiful safety surface
around all play equipment, as well as the replacement of the surface in the water feature area. The landscaping, including new plants and turf, has been completed at this time. The contractors are
continuing to work on the nal hardscape items needing to be installed, such as the posts for the arbors
in the water feature area. The water feature equipment has been repainted to help enhance this equip-
ment.

FACILITATE COMMUNITY PROBLEM SOLVING
Danville seniors enjoyed an in-depth conversation about genealogy and
exploring family histories through a Buzz Session on “Exploring Our
Family History.” This Buzz Session, in partnership with the San Ramon
Valley Genealogical Society, provided information about how DNA
testing has changed the genealogy process. Attendees also had the
chance to hear about alternate resources to connect with relatives that
were once only available in physical archives or government records.
PROTECT ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES
With the winter rain having arrived, all irrigation is still o for the season. The new irrigation pump for
Green Valley Elementary has been installed and will be operating at full capacity come spring time when
the irrigation gets turned back on, enhancing the irrigation operation and the turf management of this
site. We continue to work on irrigation issues at Osage Station Park and expect them to be completed
soon. Some drinking fountains have been turned o due to the freeze damaging the equipment, which
caused water leaks and necessitated repairs. The memorial roses at Osage Station Park – over 1,500 of
them - were pruned and the crape myrtle trees are being pruned Town-wide.
PROVIDE RECREATIONAL EXPERIENCES
Avoiding the cold weather and early nights, the teens at the teen center
are enjoying their afternoons creating slime and playing Ultimate
Werewolf. Depending on which teen center you walk in, you can nd
these lucky middle schoolers playing foosball with their friends, signing
up for a friendly competition of air hockey or relaxing after a long day
of school.

The Jr. Warriors season is half

growth through all the teams. We were really excited to watch our K-1st
grade girls division have their rst season with 6 teams. The 4th - 5th
grade division has had quite a few games that were won by buzzer
beaters. We are looking forward to the next few weeks of games!
