Public Meetings •PC (1-2) •Town Council (if applicable) 30-Day Clock Starts 1.5 Preliminary Design Analysis & DRB Review 2.5 DRB Review(s) Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) Preliminary Highlights (subject to additional legal analysis) •Allowable: Any residential district (single-family and multi-family) •Number: Multiple ADUs on one lot •Setbacks: 4-foot side and rear setbacks •Size: Specific to type but maximum = 1,200 SF •Parking: None •Owner-Occupancy: None •Rentals: Long-term only (no short-term) •Process: Building permit only Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) Attached ADU: A unit that is attached to (but separate from) the primary home, usually with a separate entrance. Detached ADU: A unit that is physically separate from the primary home. Junior ADU: A small unit (≤ 500 SF) that is converted from an existing space such as an attic, basement or garage.
