CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Danville Planning Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m., in the Town Meeting Hall, 201 Front Street, Danville, CA. Present: Andrew Verriere, Chair Archie Bowles, Commissioner Mark Graham, Commissioner Randy Haberl, Commissioner Paul Radich, Commissioner Excused: Robert Combs, Vice-Chair Chris Trujillo, Commissioner David Havlik, Alt. Commissioner 2. PUBLIC COMMENTS There were no public comments. 3. CONSENT CALENDAR - Consent calendar items are considered routine and are acted upon by the Planning Commission with a single action. Members of the audience wishing to provide public input may request that the Planning Commission remove the item from the Consent Calendar. 3.1 Consider approval of the Summary of Actions from the October 22, 2019, regular Planning Commission meeting. MOTION BY COMMISSIONER GRAHAM, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER BOWLES, TO ADOPT THE CONSENT CALENDAR MOTION CARRIED 5-0-0-3; VICE CHAIR COMBS, COMMISSIONER TRUJILLO AND ALTERNATE COMMISSIONER HAVLIK EXCUSED Danville Planning Commission Summary of Actions November 26, 2019 2 4. PUBLIC HEARINGS 4.1 Consider approval of Resolution No. 2019-10, approving Development Plan request (DEV19-0011) and two Variance requests (VAR19-0022 & VAR19-0023) to allow the construction of a 2,677 +/- square-foot second-story addition, complete building façade remodel, landscape improvements, and a public plaza. The project site is located at 301 Hartz Avenue and further identified as Assessor’s Parcel Number 199-350-019. Brianne Reyes, Project Planner presented the staff report. Kevin Gailey, Chief of Planning responded to questions from the Commission. Johnathan James, William Wood Architects responded to questions from the Commission. Chair Verriere opened the item to public comments. There were no public comments. Chair Verriere closed the item to public comments. MOTION BY COMMISSIONER GRAHAM, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER HABERL, TO ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 2019-10, APPROVING DEVELOPMENT PLAN REQUEST (DEV19-0011) AND TWO VARIANCE REQUESTS (VAR19-0022 & VAR19-0023) TO ALLOW THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 2,677 +/- SQUARE-FOOT SECOND-STORY ADDITION, COMPLETE BUILDING FAÇADE REMODEL, LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS, AND A PUBLIC PLAZA LOCATED AT 301 HARTZ AVENUE; WITH THE FOLLOWING MODIFICATIONS: • Add the requirements from the Contra Costa County Flood Control & Water Conservation District as outlined in their letter dated November 21, 2019. • Replace plan Elevation Sheet A-6 with new A-6 Elevation Sheet dated November 26, 2019 reflecting a maximum 35’ building height. • Modify the appropriate plan sheets to remove the proposed flag at the roof peaks.
