Town staff notified of possible PSPS event beginning midweek
PGE information to Town staff conflicting
Approximately 3500 customers in Town
Staff actively monitored events for the duration with SRVEPCCC partners
No locations in Town directly affected by PSPS

Monday 10/21- Town staff notified of PSPS in North Bay and Foothill Counties possible CCC impacts
Thursday 10/24- PGE releases maps that show significant portions of Town impacted to include Diablo Road / Green Valley Road area
Friday 10/25- PSPS 10/23 over. PSPS 10/26 begins. PGE forecasts indicate a historic wind event. NWS confirms forecast
PGE predicts 48,400 customers in CCC impacted. 2300 customers in Town
Saturday 10 /26 @8:20 pm- PSPS in San Ramon Valley begins

Power Outage at Diablo Road at Green Valley Road includes Two Senior Care Facilities, Fire Station 31, Green Valley Elementary School

Multiple calls for service for Fire, PD and Maintenance

PSPS 10/26
Monday 10/28-at 0600 hours the “Weather All Clear” was given. Inspection and power restoration begins.
Diablo Road area still without power. Frequent communications with Directors of both senior care facilities.
Approximately 1400 hours kitchen at one care home shutdown. Efforts to get additional generation to support the facility.
Blankets, Flashlights and Batteries supplied to facilities via Red Cross
Re-energization expected morning of 10/29

Tuesday 10/29- Diablo Road area re-energized at approximately 0600 hours.
Staff made personal contact with care home directors and ensured power was on and all was well.
Followed up with other citizens on power status.

What Did We Learn?
PGE Fully intends to implement their PSPS policy.
The SRVEPCCC relationship serves the community well.
The decision to expand the PIO Team was prescient.
Expect and Plan for the Worse.
Do NOT make predictions.
Larger events mean Longer Restoration Times.
Ask Detailed Questions.

Exploring the Establishment of Small Device Charging Locations
PSPS Grant-Utilyzing the Governors PSPS Grant Resiliency Program the Town has applied for $193,000 in funds to purchase the following:
Two Mobile Generators
Traffic Light Battery Backup for 12 intersections
Cell Phone Charging Stations
