RESOLUTION NO. 79-2019
ESTABLISHING A LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the Town has diligently worked through the Tri -Valley cities coalition, and
other appropriate means to provide input on state and federal legislative matters, in order
to advocate for the most positive possible outcomes for Danville, its residents and
businesses; and
WHEREAS, the California state legislature is increasingly introducing legislation that has
potentially far-reaching impacts upon local governments, including: police powers, land
use control, public safety and other regulatory requirements; and
WHEREAS, the volume of new legislation and the need to continuously respond to the
constantly changing legislative process in Sacramento requires the Town to receive
information more quickly and react more rapidly; and
WHEREAS, establishing a legislative committee of the Town Council will allow for more
rapid response to certain legislative actions and allow the Town to advocate and respond
in ways that are more unique and specific to Danville; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council hereby establishes a two -member
legislative committee of the Town Council; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the legislative committee membership shall be as established annually
in conjunction with annual Mayoral appointments.
