RESOLUTION NO. 52-2019
AWARDING A DESIGN CONTRACT FOR BICYCLE FACILITIES
IMPROVEMENTS ON DIABLO ROAD (WEST), FROM GREEN VALLEY ROAD
TO HARTZ AVENUE AS PART OF TOWN -WIDE BICYCLE IMPROVEMENTS,
CIP NO. C-621
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council previously appropriated funding for Town -wide
Bicycle Facilities Improvements, CIP No. C-621, in the adopted 2019/20 Capital
Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the Town circulated a Request for Proposal (RFP) to select the most qualified
and experienced consultant firm to provide civil engineering design services for bicycle
facilities improvements on Diablo Road (west) from Green Valley Road to Hartz Avenue;
and
WHEREAS, the Town issued the RFP on June 7, 2019 and received three (3) proposals by
June 28, 2019, that were evaluated and scored; and
WHEREAS, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. of Pleasanton, CA was determined to be
the most qualified consultant; and,
WHEREAS, sufficient funds have been budgeted in the Capital Improvement Program
for Town -wide Bicycle Facilities Improvements, CIP No. C-621; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute in duplicate, on behalf of the Town, the Professional Services
Agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. of Pleasanton, CA with a not -to -
exceed budget of $29,950.00, and that the Town Manager be authorized to establish and
utilize a 10% design contingency in the amount of $2,995.00 for additional work that may
be subsequently approved by contract amendment.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on July 16, 2019, by the
following vote:
AYES: Arnerich, Blackwell, Morgan, Stepper, Storer
