RESOLUTION NO. 47-2019
AUTHORIZING AN ON -STREET TIME ZONE ADJUSTMENT
ALONG THE FRONTAGE OF 80 RAILROAD AVENUE
WHEREAS, the street sections listed below are maintained by the Town of Danville;
and
WHEREAS, on January 12, 2010, the Town Council approved Resolution 6-2010,
adopting the Downtown Parking Management Plan that establishes policies and
procedures for implementing and managing parking operations in the downtown core;
and
WHEREAS, the Downtown Parking Management Plan includes policies and procedures
for implementing and managing curb marking requests in the downtown core; and
WHEREAS, the Town received a curb marking request from Railroad Avenue area
merchants for the establishment of a twenty -minute parking time zone along the
frontage of 80 Railroad Avenue; and
WHEREAS, traffic and engineering studies conducted by the Town of Danville
establish that the conversion of an existing two-hour parking time zone to a twenty -
minute parking time zone is needed at an on -street location along the frontage of 80
Railroad Avenue to better serve the needs of downtown merchants and the general
public; and
WHEREAS, the twenty -minute on -street parking zone is for the intended use of the
general public; and
WHEREAS, parking shall be permitted for a maximum time limit of twenty minutes
between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday; and
WHEREAS, the twenty -minute parking time zone, as declared by this resolution, will
occupy 20 feet and approximately one parking space on Railroad Avenue; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Danville Town Council that pursuant to Sections 21458 and 22500 of
the California Vehicle Code, an existing two-hour parking restriction, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.,
Monday through Friday, be converted to a twenty -minute parking restriction, 7 a.m. to
6 p.m., Monday through Friday, at an on -street location adjacent to 80 Railroad Avenue.
