AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE TOWN-WIDE WAYFINDING
AND DIRECTIONAL SIGNAGE, PHASE 3, CIP NO. B-618
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council has appropriated funding in the Capital
Improvement Program for the for the Town-Wide Wayfinding and Directional Signage
Project, CIP No. B-618 in the adopted 2018/19 Capital Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for the subject project have been reviewed and
approved by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, this project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California
Environmental Quality Act, Section 15301, Class 1; and
WHEREAS, the Town released a Call for Bids for the Town-wide Wayfinding and
Directional Signage, Phase 3 Project; and
WHEREAS, bids for the Town-wide Wayfinding and Directional Signage, Phase 3 Project
were due on the 11th day of June, 2018, with no bids being received; and
WHEREAS, the Town proceeded to solicit proposals from qualified contractors in
accordance with State of California Public Contract Code Section 20166 to procure
construction services for the project; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive proposal was received by Statewide Traffic Safety and
Signs of Fairfield, CA, at $17,950.00, and the City Engineer has recommended awarding
a construction contract for the project to said contractor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town award the construction
contract for the Town-wide Wayfinding and Directional Signage Project, Phase 3,
Contract No. B-618 to Statewide Traffic Safety and Signs of Fairfield, CA; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract for Statewide Traffic
Safety and Signs of Fairfield, CA, for $17,950.00 and authorize use of a 15% contingency
of $2,692.50 for a total construction budget of $20,642.50 for work in connection therewith,
and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of
the Town; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that staff shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial
Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 420603, San Francisco, CA

94142. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to
journeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of
such findings.)
