AUTHORIZING EXEMPTION FROM DANVILLE ORDINANCE NO. 96-10
FOR THE DANVILLE SUMMERFEST ON JUNE 23 AND 24, 2018
WHEREAS, the Danville Surnmerfest is an annual event sponsored by the Danville
Area Chamber of Commerce (Chamber); and
WHEREAS, this event is supported and enjoyed by the residents of Danville and brings
visitors to downtown; and
WHEREAS, the Chamber has requested an exemption from Danville Ordinance No. 96-
10 in order to allow public consumption of alcohol within the authorized street closure
limits; and
WHEREAS, this event is a daytime family event with no history of alcohol-related
incidents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED that the Danville Town Council hereby authorizes that public
consumption of alcohol shall be allowed within the authorized street closure limits of
this event during the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., on June 23 and 24, 2018, in
accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 96-10.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on February 6, 2018,
by the following vote:
AYES: Arnerich, Blackwell, Morgan, Stepper, Storer
