AMENDING CONTRACTS ASSOCIATED WITH
THE ROSE STREET PARKING LOT CONSTRUCTION, AND
APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR THE
ROSE STREET PARKING FACILITY PROJECT, CIP NO. C-592
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council previously appropriated funding for the Rose
Street Parking Facility Project, CIP No. C-592, in the adopted 2016/17 Capital Improvement
Program; and
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council adopted Resolution No. 43-2017, awarding a
construction contract to Teichert Construction for the Rose Street Parking Facility Project;
and
WHEREAS, the Town authorized a contract with Nototomne Cultural Preservation in
accordance with Public Resources Code Section 5097 to perform cultural resources
monitoring during construction as cultural resources were discovered during construction;
and
WHEREAS, additional services were required by the Consultant due to discovery of
additional cultural resources on-site during construction; and
WHEREAS, the current cultural resources monitoring contract with Consultant must be
amended to authorize an additional $27;000 in connection with the additional cultural
resources monitoring; and
WHEREAS, the parking lot was redesigned to raise the elevation in an effort to minimize
further disturbance of cultural resources and project delays; and
WHEREAS, the current construction contract with Contractor must be amended to
authorize an additional $50,000 in connection with the design changes; and
WHEREAS, an unexpended amount of $25,000 funds previously appropriated by the
Town Council is available to partially fund the additional contract work; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of $52,000 to CIP No. C-592 to fund both contract
amendments is required to complete the project; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager is hereby authorized
to execute, on behalf of the Town, a contract amendment in the amount of $27,000 with
Nototomne Cultural Preservation; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager is hereby authorized
to execute, on behalf of the Town, a contract amendment in the amount of $50,000 with
Teichert Construction; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that $52,000 in CIP General Purpose Revenue
be appropriated in fiscal year 2017/18 for CIP No. C-592 to fund contract amendments with
Nototomne Cultural Preservation and Teichert Construction.
