HomeMy WebLinkAbout036-2017RESOLUTION NO. 36-2017 ADOPTING THE DANVILLE COMMUNITY BRANDING AND MARKETING PLAN WHEREAS, the Town of Danville (the "Town") approved its first Comprehensive Economic Development Plan in June 2016, which included overall goals, strategies and implementation measures to guide Economic Development efforts for the next five years and beyond; and WHEREAS, several strategies outlined in the Plan's goals and objectives included the development of a Community Branding and Marketing Plan that integrates the Town's Shop Danville First brand with the Town's branding efforts used by all Town departments for community outreach efforts, including print publications, posters, online advertising, social media and other efforts; and WHEREAS, Bellweather Agency, LLC of San Diego, California (Bellweather) was awarded the contract on October 18, 2016 to complete the Community Branding and Marketing Plan; and WHEREAS, after a six-month public engagement and business outreach effort, including surveys, focus groups, and public workshops, a final Community Branding and Marketing Plan was created by consulting firm Bellweather LLC and Town staff; and WHEREAS, the Community Branding and Marketing Plan highlights Danville's key attributes, including six pillars, that should be communicated on all of Danville's marketing and messaging; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council hereby adopts the Danville Community Branding and Marketing Plan. APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on May 2, 2017 by the following vote: AYES: Arnerich, Blackwell, M NOES: None ABSTAINED: None ABSENT: None APPROVED AS TO FORM: CITY ATTORNEY
