Additional information:
New for 2017, we plan to host a 1 -mile Elite race that will be called "The Mile of Truth". The Mile of
Truth will be a certified 1 -mile race for elite level runners and will offer prize money for the winning
male and female runner in the open category and the masters category (40+). The race will start
promptly at 9:15 AM and will start on Railroad Ave in front of the Danville Brewery.
Course description: We will use all roads that are already close to traffic so there are no additional
road closures to consider. The start/finish line will be on Railroad Avenue. The exact spot will be
determined once the course is officially measured. The runners will head south on Railroad Ave,
turn left on Church St., left on Hartz Ave, left on Prospect and left again on to the finish line on
Railroad Ave. Runners will run two (2) loops of this course.
The Mile of Truth should take no longer than 15 minutes from start to completion. We expect the
fastest runners to finish in about 4 minutes, with the slower runners finishing around 6 minutes. We
will move immediately in to the Kids Fun Run as described below.
Kid's Fun Run:
Due to the growing popularity of the Kid's Fun Run, we will be moving the run on to Railroad Ave.
We will utilize only an "out and back" stretch of Railroad Ave_
