HomeMy WebLinkAbout026-2016SHARESOLUTION NO.26-2016SHA APPROVING THE SALE OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 341 ROSE STREET TO THE TOWN OF DANVILLE WHEREAS, the former Community Development Agency of the Town of Danville (the "former CDA") purchased the real property located at 341 Rose Street, using the Low and Moderate Housing Fund of the Agency; and WHEREAS, upon dissolution of the former CDA, the Danville Town Council adopted Resolution No. 6-2011, electing to retain all of the housing assets and assume the housing functions which were previously the responsibility of the CDA; and WHEREAS, the Housing Fund Due Diligence Review (the "DDR") prepared by the Successor Agency to the former CDA and approved by the California Department of Finance (the "DOF") in April 2013, identified 341 Rose Street as an asset of the Housing Fund (now identified as the Successor Housing Agency); and WHEREAS, the intended use of the property for housing has proven to be infeasible due to the small size of the parcel and the lack of any desire of surrounding property owners to redevelop and aggregate their properties; and WHEREAS, the Town desires to purchase 341 Rose Street for inclusion in a public parking lot to be constructed by the Town; and WHEREAS, with sale of the property to the Town, the Successor Housing Agency will receive funds that can be used for other housing opportunities as they develop; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Successor Housing Agency to the former Community Development Agency of the Town of Danville hereby authorizes the sale of the real property located at 341 Rose Street to the Town of Danville for $973,800, with proceeds for the sale to be deposited into the Agency's housing fund.
