HomeMy WebLinkAbout003-2016RESOLUTION NO. 3-2016 AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA TO OBTAIN THE TOWN OF DANVILLE'S ELECTRICAL LOAD DATA FROM PACIFIC GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY; AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING UP TO $18,000 TOWARD A MULTI -AGENCY TECHNICAL STUDY ON COMMUNITY CHOICE AGGREGATION WHEREAS, Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) enables towns, cities, counties and joint power authorities to pool electricity demand and purchase or generate power on behalf of residential and business customers within their jurisdictions; and WHEREAS, have provided a number of benefits including local choice, local control, increased use of renewable power sources and local green jobs; and WHEREAS, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors has asked the Town of Danville and other municipalities in the county to gauge their interest in CCAs; and WHEREAS, the County of Contra Costa would need data on the Town of Danville's electrical load usage from Pacific Gas & Electric Company in order to conduct a technical study on the feasibility of CCAs; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council authorizes the County of Contra Costa to obtain the Town of Danville's electrical load data from Pacific Gas & Electric Company; RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council appropriates $18,000 from the General Fund toward a multi -agency technical study on Community Choice Aggregation; and RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council authorizes up to $18,000 toward a multi - agency technical study on Community Choice Aggregation.
