HomeMy WebLinkAbout085-2015RESOLUTION NO. 85-2015 AWARDING A CONTRACT SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR URGENT PATCH PAVING ON CAMINO TASSAJARA, CIP NO. C-508 WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council has appropriated funding in the Capital Improvement Program for CIP No. C-508, in the 2015/16 Capital Improvement Program; and WHEREAS, from time -to -time, the Town's roads experience unexpected failure or damage that threatens public safety; and WHEREAS, the Town endeavors to respond quickly to matters dealing with road repairs to minimize any further failure or damage; and WHEREAS, urgent patch paving is necessary on Camino Tassajara which includes removal of existing pavement and construction of new pavement; and WHEREAS, the Town solicited three informal bids; and WHEREAS, Jim Freethy Excavating submitted the lowest responsive bid of $37,818.90; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town award a contract services agreement for urgent patch paving on Camino Tassajara, CIP No. C-508 to Jim Freethy Excavating of Danville, California; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Jim Freethy Excavating of Danville, California for $37,818.90, and authorize use of a 10% contingency of $$3,781.89, for a total construction budget of $41,600.79 for work in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the Town shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
