HomeMy WebLinkAbout070-2015RESOLUTION NO. 70-2015 APPROVING THE USE OF A MASTER GOVERNMENT CRIME INSURANCE POLICY IN LIEU OF BONDS WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 36518 and Danville Municipal Code Section 2-2.4, the City Clerk, Town Treasurer and Town Manager are required to provide faithful performance bonds in amounts recommended by the City Attorney and approved by the Town Council; and WHEREAS, Government Code Sections 1463 and 1481 allow the Town to purchase a government crime insurance policy in lieu of the required bonds and to use the policy as a master policy covering all subject employees, subject to approval by the Presiding Judge of the Contra Costa County Superior Court; and WHEREAS, the Town may purchase such an insurance policy through the Municipal Pooling Authority; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney recommends that the Town Council set the amount of the insurance at $1,000,000; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council approves the use of a master government crime insurance policy in an amount of $1,000,000 to satisfy the bonding requirements of the City Clerk, Town Treasurer and Town Manager and directs the City Attorney to obtain approval for use of such insurance policy from the Presiding Judge of the Contra Costa County Superior Court.
