APPROPRIATING FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR THE
DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, the Town of Danville (the "Town ") is committed to promoting and
encouraging a diverse and healthy local economy, within an appropriate scale and
character, as a means of supporting an outstanding quality of life for all Town
businesses and residents; and
WHEREAS, the Town has adopted an Economic Development Analysis (EDA), which
involved hard data collection, a business survey and an evaluation of Danville's
strengths and challenges; and
WHEREAS, the EDA included a series of recommendations to assist the Town of
Danville with the development of a Comprehensive Economic Development Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council through its adoption of the EDA at its December 17,
2013 meeting authorized the development of a Comprehensive Economic Development
Plan; and
WHEREAS, funds for the Development of a Comprehensive Economic Development
Plan were appropriated in the 2014/15 Operating Budget; and
WHEREAS, in October, the Town released a Request for proposals/ qualifications
(RFP /Q) to various economic planning firms to conduct a CEDP; and
WHEREAS, Economic & Planning Systems (EPS) of Sacramento was determined to be
the most qualified consultant to complete the Comprehensive Economic Development
Plan; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager is hereby
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with EPS of
Sacramento, California with a not -to- exceed budget of $65,000.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on December 16, 2014,
by the following vote:
AYES: Doyle ,Stepper,Arnerich,Storer,Morgan
