AWARDING A DESIGN CONTRACT TO HARRIS & ASSOCIATES FOR THE
DANVILLE VARIOUS STREETS AND ROADS PRESERVATION PROJECT (OBAG),
CIP PROJECT C -584
WHEREAS, the Town circulated a Request for Proposal (RFP) to select the most qualified
and experienced consulting firm to provide civil engineering design services for the Danville
Various Streets and Roads Preservation Project, Capital Improvement Project No. C -584; and
WHEREAS, said project is largely funded by a federal grant administered by Caltrans; and
WHEREAS, the Town issued the RFP on September 10, 2014 and received four (4) proposals
that were evaluated and scored; and
WHEREAS, the evaluation process followed the procedures in Chapter 10 of the Caltrans
Local Assistance Procedures Manual; and
WHEREAS, Harris & Associates of Concord was determined to be the most qualified
consultant; and,
WHEREAS, sufficient funds have been budgeted in the Capital Improvement Program for
Project C -584, the Danville Various Streets and Roads Preservation Project; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute in duplicate, on behalf of the Town, the Professional Services
Agreement with Harris & Associates with a not -to- exceed budget of $149,999, and that the
Town Manager be authorized to establish and utilize a 10% design contingency for
additional work that may be subsequently approved by contract amendment in the amount
of $14,999 for a total design budget of $164,998.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on October 21, 2014, by the
following vote:
AYES: Storer, Doyle, Arnerich, Morgan, Stepper
