AUTHORIZING A PARKING RESTRICTION FOR GLEN ROAD
WHEREAS, the streets named in this resolution are maintained by the Town of Danville;
and,
WHEREAS, residents have petitioned the Town to establish a parking restriction for the
Glen Road neighborhood for purposes of preserving access, promoting vehicular and
pedestrian safety and maintaining the residential character of the neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the parking restrictions, as declared by this resolution, will promote the safe
and orderly movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council considered several parking restriction options for the Glen
Road neighborhood, including Glen Road, Van Gordon Place and Shelly Place, and
received testimony regarding those options; and
WHEREAS, based upon the testimony and written evidence presented during the public
hearing, the Town Council has determined that there is an immediate need to enact
parking restrictions on that section of Glen Road located between Del Amigo Road and
Van Gordon Place; and that parking restrictions on the remainder of Glen Road may be
necessary in the future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Danville Town Council that pursuant to Section 22506 of the California
Vehicle Code, No Parking 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. School Days
restriction shall be immediately enacted for the southern section of Glen Road, between Del
Amigo Road and Van Gordon Place (including 701, 693 and 685 Glen Road), and that signs
be erected for such purpose on the east and west side of Glen Road; and be it further
RESOLVED by the Danville Town Council that the Town continue to evaluate parking
activity within the Glen Road neighborhood; and be it further
RESOLVED by the Danville Town Council that a No Parking 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and
2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. School Days restriction shall be enacted for the northern section of
Glen Road, between Van Gordon Place and Hartford Road, after June 1, 2014, and upon
submittal of a petition of support from a minimum of 70% of homeowners along the
northern section of Glen Road, between Van Gordon Place and Hartford Road.

the following vote:
