HomeMy WebLinkAbout020-2013RESOLUTION NO. 20-2013 AUTHORIZING STREET CLOSURES FOR THE DANVILLE DEVIL MOUNTAIN RUN ON MAY 5, 2013 WHEREAS, the Danville Devil Mountain Run is an event sponsored by Forward Motion Sports and Katalyst Events, LLC; and WHEREAS, this event is supported and enjoyed by the residents of Danville and brings visitors to the Town; and WHEREAS, event organizers will work with Town staff to ensure that all event planning and logistics issues, including coordination with outside agencies, are completed by Friday, April, 5, 2013, one month prior to staging the event; and WHEREAS, in order to ensure the safety of the participants, it is necessary to close streets for the event (Exhibit 1); now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the following streets will be closed/ partially Sunday, May 5, 2013, for the purpose of conducting the Danville Devil Mountain Run: For both the 5K and 10K courses 1. Between 4:00 a.m. and 8:15 a.m., closure of Railroad Avenue between Prospect Avenue and San Ramon Valley Boulevard; 2. Between 7:45 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., rolling closure of Hartz Avenue /San Ramon Valley Boulevard between Diablo Road and Iron Horse Trail Crossing; For the 5K course only 1. Between 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., closure of Prospect Avenue between Railroad Avenue and Quinterra Lane; the traffic control signal on Hartz Avenue/ Danville Boulevard between Diablo Road and El Cerro Boulevard; Wayne Avenue between Danville Boulevard and Iron Horse Trail; and at the intersections of Iron Horse Trail and Hartford Road, Del Amigo Road, Love Lane, Linda Mesa Avenue and Prospect Avenue; For the 10K course only 1. Between 7:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., closure of Camino Ramon between Sycamore Valley Road and Fostoria Way; at the traffic control signalized intersections of: Sycamore Valley Road and Camino Ramon; Camino Ramon at El Capitan Drive; Greenbrook Drive and Fostoria Way; Iron Horse Trail and Greenbrook Drive, El Capitan Drive, Paraiso Drive, and Sycamore Valley Road;and 2. Between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., Danville Police will perform traffic control at the identified intersection(s).
