HomeMy WebLinkAbout143-2012RESOLUTION NO. 143-2012 APPROPRIATING FUNDING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER FOR THE VETERANS MEMORIAL BUILDING RENOVATION PROJECT, CIP NOS. B -510 AND C -546 WHEREAS, the Town appropriated funding for the Veterans Memorial Building Renovation, CIP Nos. B -510 and C -546, within the adopted 2012113 Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program; and WHEREAS, the Veterans Memorial Building Development Committee of San Ramon Valley (VMBDC) has been actively soliciting donations to contribute funding for the project; and WHEREAS, the Town recently received a final installment payment of $113,736 from VMBDC; and WHEREAS, the Town Council must appropriate this funding for CIP No. B -510 in order to utilize it for project expenses; and WHEREAS, the Town entered into an agreement with Zovich & Sons Inc., dba Zovich Construction, according to Town Council Resolution 57 -2010 for renovation of the Veterans Memorial Building; and WHEREAS, the Town reached consensus with Zovich Construction on the disposition of minor issues and Contract Change Order requests; and WHEREAS, the combined value of all Contract Change Orders exceeds the previously - approved construction contingency by $82,137; and WHEREAS, the VMBDC funding, once appropriated into the project budget for CIP No. B -510, will be sufficient to cover the final Contract Change Order to be issued to Zovich Construction; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that $113,736 be appropriated in the "Donations" category of Funding Sources for CIP No. B -510; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that use of $82,137 in the "Expenditure" category be authorized to fund the final Contract Change Order to Zovich Construction.
