AUTHORIZING STREET CLOSURES FOR THE
LIGHTING OF THE OLD OAK TREE ON NOVEMBER 23, 2012
WHEREAS, the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree is an annual event sponsored by the
Danville Area Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, this event is supported and enjoyed by the residents of Danville and brings
visitors to the Town; and
WHEREAS, the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce is requesting street closures in
downtown Danville for the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree; and
WHEREAS, in order to ensure the safety of the participants, it is necessary to close
streets for the event (Exhibit 1); now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the following streets will be closed
Friday, November 23, 2012, during the hours identified below, for the purpose of
conducting the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree:
Between 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
East bound number one lane of Diablo Road between Front Street
and the Danville Oak Tree for stage installation; and
Between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
1. Diablo Road 25 feet east of the Danville Oak Tree to Hartz Avenue;
2. West El Pintado between Diablo Road and the south parking lot
entrance for Community Presbyterian Church; and
3. Front Street between Diablo Road and the parking lot entrance of
the Front Street municipal parking lot;
4. Prospect Avenue between Front Street and Hartz Avenue;
5. Hartz Avenue between Linda Mesa Avenue and School Street; and
6. Northbound Hartz Avenue from School Street to Hartz Way.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on February 7, 2012,
by the following vote:
AYES: Andersen, Arnerich, Doyle, Stepper, Storer
NOES: None
ABSTAINED: None
ABSENT: None
