HomeMy WebLinkAbout011-2012RESOLUTION NO. 11-2012 AUTHORIZING STREET CLOSURES FOR THE DANVILLE HOT SUMMER NIGHTS CAR SHOWS ON JULY 19 AND AUGUST 16, 2012 WHEREAS, the Danville Hot Summer Nights Car Show is an event sponsored by the Danville Merchants' Association; and WHEREAS, the event will host approximately 25 vendor booths with a 60% local vendor occupancy rate; and WHEREAS, in order to ensure the safety of the participants and to protect the show cars, it is necessary to close streets for the event (Exhibit 1); now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council hereby authorizes the following street closures for the Danville Hot Summer Nights Car Shows between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., Thursday, July 19 and Thursday, August 16 2012: 1. Hartz Avenue between Railroad Avenue and south to School Street; 2. Northbound Hartz Avenue from School Street to Hartz Way; 3. Linda Mesa Avenue between Railroad Avenue and Rose Avenue; 4. Diablo Road between Hartz Avenue and Rose Avenue; 5. Diablo Road at Front Street, westbound and northbound directions; 6. Local traffic access only between Front Street and Rose Avenue on Diablo Road and Front Street north to Linda Mesa Avenue; 7. Prospect Avenue between the Clock Tower Municipal Parking Lot entrance and 150' east of Hartz Avenue; and 8. Church Street 50 feet west and east of Hartz Avenue.
