HomeMy WebLinkAbout054-2011RESOLUTION NO. 54-2011 APPROPRIATING SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FUNDS (SLESF) AND AWARDING A CONTRACT TO L3 MOBILE VISION FOR THE PURCHASE OF IN -CAR CAMERAS FOR POLICE PATROL VEHICLES WHEREAS, the use of in -car camera technology is a valuable policing tool that enhances the current levels of law enforcement service; and WHEREAS, the use of in -car camera technology has proven to deter assaults on officers and provide safer working environments while reducing liability related complaints by providing both video and audio record of contacts; and WHEREAS, the Town has identified appropriate system criteria and evaluated various vendors and technology; and WHEREAS, the Town receives Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Funds (SLESF) for the purpose of enhancing local public safety and law enforcement services; now therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council hereby appropriates $132,184 in available Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Funds (SLESF) and authorizes the Town Manager to execute a contract with L3 Mobile Vision in the amount of $120,168, plus a 10% contingency of $12,016, to purchase and install 15 cameras.
