APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR UPGRADES TO THE TOWN -WIDE
TELEPHONE SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Town of Danville purchased a Mitel Telephone System in 1997; and
WHEREAS, the telephone system was upgraded in 2004 and 2007 as part of a phased
move to a Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) telephone system; and
WHEREAS, the Town's system is currently 50% converted to VOIP; and
WHEREAS, IP telephone systems offer the efficiencies of a single network for both
voice and data; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds have been appropriated as part of the implementation of
the second phase of Technology Upgrades in the 2010/ 11 fiscal year; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council hereby authorizes the Town Manager
to execute on behalf of the Town, a contract with Mitel Networks, Inc. for $78,592,
plus a contingency of $5,000, for a total cost of $83,592.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on June 21, 2011, by
the following vote:
