HomeMy WebLinkAbout040-2011RESOLUTION NO. 40-2011 APPROVING A CALL FOR BIDS FOR PHASE I OF THE DOWNTOWN CROSSWALK ENHANCEMENTS; CIP NO. B -523 WHEREAS, the Town has a project in the current Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to construct crosswalk enhancements in the downtown; and WHEREAS, the crosswalk enhancements consist of a stamped and colored asphalt treatment at existing crosswalk locations; and WHERAS, the crosswalk enhancements, as declared by this resolution, will further demarcate pedestrian crossing locations and enhance pedestrian safety while reducing the potential for collisions; and WHERAS, the crosswalk enhancements will provide an aesthetic improvement to pedestrian crossing locations and will contribute to defining the Old Town area; and WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for the downtown crosswalk enhancements project has been reviewed and approved by the City Engineer; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended adoption of a resolution for the purpose of calling for bids the project; and WHEREAS, this project is Categorically Exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act according to Guidelines Section 15.311; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to call for bids for the Downtown Crosswalk Enhancements, CIP No. B -523.
