HomeMy WebLinkAbout138-2010RESOLUTION NO. 138-2010 SUPPORTING A 2012 FEDERAL APPROPRIATIONS REQUEST FOR I -680 AUXILIARY LANE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - SEGMENT 2 WHEREAS, for the past five years, as part of their Mayoral duties, the Mayor has attended the U. S. Conference of Mayors Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C. and along with the Mayors from the Tri Valley Cities, meet with their Congressional Delegation to advocate for regional Federal Appropriations, which benefit the Tri Valley area; and WHEREAS, the FY 2012 Legislative Agenda includes a request for funding for the I -680 Auxiliary Lane Improvement Project - Segment 2; and WHEREAS, this project would provide exclusive lanes that connect the entrance and exit ramps between the Sycamore Valley Road and Crow Canyon Road interchanges on I -680, to alleviate high levels of peak hour congestion; and WHEREAS, the project will be "shovel ready" with the completion of a Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS &E) package in 2012; and WHEREAS, the $6 Million Federal Appropriation request would help fill a funding gap for the project's construction; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council does hereby support a 2012 Federal Appropriation request for the I -680 Auxiliary Lane Improvement Project - Segment 2. APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on December 21, 2010, by the following vote: AYES: Stepper, Andersen, Arnerich, Doyle, Storer NOES: None ABSTAINED: None ABSENT: None MA R APPROVED AS TO FORM: ATTEST: CITY ATTORNEY CITY LERK
