RESOLUTION NO. 111-2010
APPROPRIATING $157,636 TO FUND DANVILLE'S PARTICIPATION IN THE
EAST BAY REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM AUTHORITY (EBRCSA)
WHEREAS, the Town of Danville is a member of the East Bay Regional
Communications System Authority (the "EBRCSA"), a joint powers authority organized
and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of California, pursuant to a
Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement dated as of September 11,2007; and
WHEREAS, the EBRCSA is authorized to develop and maintain a P-25 compliant
communications system serving Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and individual
political jurisdictions therein, including the Town of Danville; and
WHEREAS, completion of the new radio system will provide radio interoperability
among all law enforcement agencies and emergency services providers within the area
served by the EBRCSA, thereby significantly improving public safety for residents of
Danville; and
WHEREAS, the EBRCSA is currently completing efforts to finance the remaining
$17,000,000 required in order to complete the $69,952,910 system; and
WHEREAS, Danville's share of the system costs totals $157,636, and the Town has
previously reserved funding for this purpose; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council hereby appropriates $157,636 to fund
Danville's share of system costs related to completion of a new radio communications
system to be completed by the EBRCSA.
