RESOLUTION NO. 19-2010
APPROVING A CALL FOR BIDS FOR HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS
ABATEMENT AT THE VETERANS MEMORIAL BUILDING, PROJECT A-510
WHEREAS, the Town is undertaking renovation of the Veterans Memorial Building
located at 400 Hartz Avenue, CIP Project A-510; and
WHEREAS, before the renovation work can commence, the Town must remove
hazardous building materials identified in a report by Kleinfelder West, Inc. dated
February 23, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the renovation work was approved by the Heritage Resource Commission
(HRC) and the Planning Commission (PC) on August 11, 2009, subject to a Mitigated
Negative Declaration of Environmental Significance and associated findings and
conditions of approval contained in HRC Resolution No. 2009-01 and PC Resolution
2009-28; and
WHEREAS, with careful adherence to the conditions of approval, the renovation work
is not expected to have an adverse impact on the environment; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the abatement of hazardous building materials
have been prepared in accordance with standards and protocols established by the
United States EP A, the California EP A, the California Department of Public Health, and
Cal-OSHA; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended adoption of a resolution for the
purpose of calling for bids for the subject abatement work; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the City Engineer is hereby authorized
and directed to call for bids for the abatement of hazardous building materials at the
Veterans Memorial Building located at 400 Hartz Avenue as part of Capital
Improvement Project A-510.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on March 2,2010 by
the following vote:
