RESOLUTION NO. 78-2009
AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN A CONTRACT FOR
FEDERAL GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS SERVICES WITH
JORDAN AND ASSOCIATES, THROUGH THE TRI-V ALLEY CITIES;
AND APPROPRIATING CONTINGENCY FUNDS
WHEREAS, Danville is one of five cities that make up the Tri-Valley Council; and
WHEREAS, the Tri-Valley Council works closely to develop and maintain a federal
legislative agenda that focuses on solutions and securing funding that directly benefits the
Tri-Valley and each onts cities; and
WHEREAS, the Tri-Valley cities have discussed the opportunity to further the legislative
agenda through the use of a firm that specializes in providing federal governmental affairs
services; and
WHEREAS, the firm of Jordan and Associates has, for the past four years, provided
assistance to the Tri-Valley delegation during their annual trip to Washington D.C. to meet
with the legislative delegation; and
WHEREAS, the firm of Jordan and Associates is uniquely qualified to assist the Tri-Valley
cities in continuing to seek federal assistance in areas that benefit the Tri-Valley; now,
therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute an
agreement authorizing participation in a Tri-Valley cities contract with Jordan and
Associates and appropriates $25,000 in Contingency Funds for that purpose for fiscal year
2009/10.
