RESOLUTION NO. 20-2009
AUTHORIZING STREET CLOSURES FOR THE
DANVILLE FINE ARTS F AIRE ON JUNE 20 AND 21, 2009
WHEREAS, the Danville Fine Arts Faire is an annual event sponsored by the Danville
Area Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, this event is supported and enjoyed by the residents of Danville and brings
visitors to downtown; and
WHEREAS, the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce is requesting street closures in
downtown Danville for the Fine Arts Faire; and
WHEREAS, in order to ensure the safety of the participants, it is necessary to close
streets for the event (Exhibit 1); and
WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce has requested an exemption from Danville
Ordinance No. 96-10 in order to allow consumption of alcohol at this event; and
WHEREAS, this event is a daytime family event with no history of alcohol-related
incidents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Danville Town Council that the following streets will be closed
from 2:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20,2009 through 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2009, for
the purpose of conducting the Danville Fine Arts Faire:
1. Hartz Avenue between Diablo Road and Hartz Way;
2. Prospect A venue between Front Street and Clock tower parking lot
entrance;
3. Church Street between Hartz A venue and Railroad A venue;
4. School Street between Hartz Avenue and Railroad Avenue; and, be it
further
RESOLVED that the Danville Town Council hereby authorizes the consumption of
alcohol at this event during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. within the a~oved
street closures, in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 96-10.

the following vote:
