RESOLUTION NO. 126-2008
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 103-2008, REQUESTING ACCEPTANCE OF
FUNDS FROM THE TRI-V ALLEY TRAFFIC SAFETY CHALLENGE GRANT AND
THE DEPARTMENT OF CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL TO PERFORM
TRAFFIC SAFETY ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS
WHEREAS, on September 16, 2008, the Town Council approved Resolution No. 103-2008
to accept funds from the Tri- Valley Traffic Safety Challenge Grant and the Department of
California Highway Patrol for personnel costs associated with traffic enforcement
operations for the "Tri-Valley Safety Challenge" for an amount not to exceed $12,000; and
WHEREAS, the delay in passing the 2008-09 State Budget resulted in an adjustment to the
grant dates and dollar amounts of the funding, which now requires the Town Council to
amend Resolution No. 103-2008; and
WHEREAS, the funds approved on September 16, 2008, included organized traffic
enforcement and traffic safety awareness activities commencing on August 1, 2008 through
December 31, 2008, with reimbursement not to exceed $12,000 for personnel costs
associated with these traffic enforcement activities; and
WHEREAS, the date for this program now commences on October 1, 2008 through June 30,
2009, with reimbursement for personnel costs not to exceed $23,000; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council hereby amends Resolution No. 103-2008, to
change the dollar amount to accept these grant monies for personnel costs associated with
traffic enforcement operations for the "Tri- Valley Safety Challenge," from an amount not
to exceed $12,000 to an amount not to exceed $23,000, and to change the dates from August
1,2008 through December 31, 2008, to October I, 2008 through June 30, 2009.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on October 21,2008, by
the following vote:
AYES: Andersen, Arnerich, Doyle, Shimansky, Stepper
