RESOLUTION NO. 37-2008
AUTHORIZING STREET CLOSURES FOR THE
LIGHTING OF THE OLD OAK TREE ON NOVEMBER 28, 2008
WHEREAS, the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree is an annual event sponsored by the
Danville Area Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, this event is supported and enjoyed by the residents of Danville and brings
visitors to the Town; and
WHEREAS, the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce is requesting street closures in
downtown Danville for the Lighting of the Oak Tree; and
WHEREAS, in order to ensure the safety of the participants, it is necessary to close
streets for the event (Exhibit 1); now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the following streets will be closed on
Friday, November 28, 2008, between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., for the purpose of
conducting the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree:
1. Diablo Road between Highway 680 and Hartz Avenue
2. West El Pintado between Diablo Road and the south parking lot entrance for
Community Presbyterian Church
3. Front Street between Diablo Road and parking lot entrance for Town
Meeting Hall
4. Prospect Avenue between Front Street and Clocktower parking lot entrance;
and
5. Hartz Avenue between Linda Mesa and School Street
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on April 1, 2008, by the
following vote:
