HomeMy WebLinkAbout052-07 RESOLUTION NO. 52-2007 ADVISING CONTRA COSTA LAFCO OF THE PREPARATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE PUBLIC REVIEW REPORT ,FOR THE 2007 LAFCO MUNICIPAL SERVICE REVIEW AND SPHERE OF INFLUENCE UPDATE AS IT PERTAINS TO DANVILLE'S SPHERE OF INFLUENCE WHEREAS, Contra Costa LAFCO has initiated its 2007 Municipal Service Review (MSR) and Sphere of Influence Update and has forwarded to Danville a schedule. of MSR activities and a request that Danville complete and return a questionnaire that will facilitate LAFCO's approval of updated sphere of influences (SOls); and WHEREAS, the MSR consists of a request for copies of various Town documents and a supplemental questionnaire that poses general questions regarding services provided within Danville's corporate limits and within Danville's SOl; and WHEREAS, the requested documents have been assembled for transmittal to LAFCO and draft responses to the questions posed in the MSR supplemental questionnaire have been prepared for Town Council review and comment; and WHEREAS, theMSR serves as a review of what adjustments, if any, to SOls are desired by a jurisdiction or warranted given the process utilized to deliver services; and WHEREAS, the lands contained within Danville's eastside SOls (being the "Intervening Properties" and Wendt Ranch) have received planning entitlements, granted by Contra Costa County, and are actively under development at this time; and WHEREAS, the lands contained within Danville's Westside SOls are generally undeveloped open space properties, with limited development potential in light of their location along the Las Trampas Ridge and / or their ownership or control by the East Bay Regional Park District; and WHEREAS, while the Town has no current intent to pursue annexation of any of the areas contained in its SOls, the Town sees no need to adjust its SOl at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council directs the Town Manager to forward the documents requested by Contra Costa LAFCO to facilitate its 2007 Municipal Service Review and Sphere of Influence Update and to forward the completed supplemental questionnaire as presented to the CounciL APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on May 15, 2007 by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSTAIN: ABSENT: Shimansky, Andersen, Arnerich, Doyle, Stepper None None None t:l~ 1<. ~~ APPROVED AS TO FORM: Jl:f!:::!v ~)- ~ . 1~~~ CITY CLERK -- PAGE NO.2 RESOLUTION NO. 52-2007
